The Service is a game about Cold War espionage and covert action. The players take the roles of intelligence officers working for the UK Station of the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS). Their charter: to organize operations and deal with developing crises around the world, especially situations that are too risky or sensitive for regular SIS station personnel to handle.
The Service is a Powered by the Apocalypse game, and will be familiar to players of Apocalypse World, Dungeon World or Night Witches. It is inspired by the spy fiction of John Le Carré, Len Deighton and the ITV series The Sandbaggers and Greg Rucka’s comics Queen and Country.
